Quick reminder that prize giving is in the community centre hall at 10am today.

All parents and family members are welcome.

Children come to school at 9am as normal.

School re-opens on Wednesday 27th August at 9am. (9.15am for new Junior Infants)

We had fabulous weather for sports day. Many thanks to all the parents and family members who came along to cheer on the children.

Both teams in the football final were great and played well.

The Green Flag Committee went to visit Glanmore Foods in Blanchardstown to ask if we could cut down on the amount of packaging that comes with our school lunches. We found one excellent solution. From September, each child will have a reusable water bottle that can be filled as necessary. This will cut down on 145 green plastic water bottles being thrown in the bin by us each day.  Or a huge 26, 535 green bottles per school year – just from our school. That is a great help to save the environment!!

Well done to all the parents who took part in the craft course with Elizabeth.

And also well done to all the parents who took part in the first aid course with Con. Certificates are on their way.

Watch out for more parents’ courses starting in September.

The Dad’s Football Blitz took place on Friday 31st May in St Catherine’s Sports Centre. Well done to all our Dads who took part.

As part of our work to achieve our first green flag, we have had a poster competition, a slogan competition and wear a recycled outfit to school competition.

All the children have been working on the topic of recycling during Green Flag Fortnight.

As part of our work for our first Green Flag, we now have several bins in the school. We are dividing our rubbish into 1. food  2. plastic 3. metal 4. glass 5. paper 6. non recyclable.

We are also collecting old clothes, used batteries, old mobile phones and chargers as well as used stamps. Please send in as much of these as you can!!!!

We have set up a green flag committee with 10 children from 2nd class, 3rd class, 4th class, 5th class and 6th class. We are working towards getting our first green flag for the school. The flag looks at litter and waste. We are trying to reduce the litter and waste that we produce every day. Also, we are trying to recycle more.
